My novel-in-progress

On a night in winter, eighteen-year-old Itzak's mother finally succumbs to fever. Left alone with their sheep on the foothills of the Alps, he faces snowstorms, bewitchments, and relatives who'd rather not associate with him. An accidental alchemical prodigy, he's shipped to the Duke's court, where he might find riches beyond all imagining - if he can keep his Jewish faith a secret.

Also includes a Venetian charlatan, vagabond artist brothers, a tatzelwurm :3, and a family with hairy faces.

I incorporated soundtracks with German medieval folk bands like Faun as well as contemporary Renaissance composers like Ludwig Senfl and Salamone Rossi, a Jewish composer from Mantua. Also earlier medieval songs.
