Despite all the emphasis on wealth and greed in Charles Dickens's final completed novel, Our Mutual Friend, I can't help loving the complicated relationship between John Rokesmith, the mysterious secretary of the nouveau riche Boffins, and Bella Wilfer, their mercenary young ward. Luckily cultural mores, Bella's snobbishness, and even John's secrets can't prevent those two from finding a truly happy ending.

Oh I just found you on 8tracks! I've loved your mixes from Livejournal. (I was "ingenu0us" over there.) I still listen to this mix over and over, and I even made not one but two music videos of Bella and John to "Secret Heart" and "Mushaboom". This mix is so lovely. :D You've definitely inspired my love for Bella and John.
