Thrilling, giddy-making, gloriously joyous... and even gorgeous, Carla Bley's 'Tijuana Traffic.'
She has managed to take a what is surely a torment, and turn it into a celebration (of mind, body, and spirit.

Carla has an impish sense of humor, something that is sorely (but not entirely) missing in jazz. And her arrangements are precisely where naive overlaps true sophistication. She's not afraid to play a C major triad!
