Criminally, unforgivably, I left Velocity Girl off the first edition of this mix. Of the approx. 8 million songs I listened to that year, almost all of them were by Superchunk, but Velocity Girl was the official indie rock band of WXJM.

Did you know that 1996 was the year they started MacRock? I was on a panel about booking your own tour with a Christian punk band. I'd only booked one tour, and it was pretty shitty, so I didn't have much wisdom to offer, but times were tight.
