This is a collection of music that inspired the upcoming novel, "Black Cat on a White Porch" by Erik Parshall. Several additions have been made as well, but only to complement an already perfect set of tunes.

"Black Cat on a White Porch" is based on a true story about a group of women, living in Petersburg, Virginia in 1966. These women are mothers, sisters, wives, and daughters, who experience prejudice in separate ways. While their husbands are at war, they fight their own battles for attention and respect. Black Cat on a White Porch is a tale of self-discovery, injustice, and pain.
