Another in the series 'Celebrating Vinyl' and now we'll check out the short lived collaborative effort ABC-Dunhill label. ABC Records, founded in 1955, was home to a variety of big name artists most notably Ray Charles (ABC-Paramount). The label continued growing absorbing/merging with other entities like Paramoun and DOT records and then finally in 1967 purchased Dunhill, founded by legendary record man Lou Adler. By 1979 the company had seen its share of glory days and was bought by MCA Records. For this playlist I'll focus mainly on the ABC-Dunhill label but I'd be remiss if I didn't throw in a few ABC/ABC-Paramount artists as well, pre-merger with Dunhill. :) Enjoy!
