Infectious blues, jazz, r&b and early big band songs that either mention the idea of "rock and roll" or began the sound and song construction that later groups started to imitate and evolve into the classic rock of the 60s.

The first song, Camp Meeting Jubilee, is the first known recording to mention rock and roll, in the lyrics "We've been rocking and rolling in your arms..." and was recorded in 1904.
