In the beginning, before the horizon darkened, they had the summer. Lush, green, sun-drenched and gilded at the edges, it was a place for them to spell, to laugh, to change into their second skins and run, as though time were nothing, and this is what it would always be. A perfect quartet of friendship that bled joy into their lives. So I give them this summer, this last refuge before the dark, and the storm: full-burn piano, earthy guitars, and sun-soaked vocals to accompany them.
