The mix has a repeat of a few songs in different forms- this is intentional to give the effect of a few running 'themes' and changes of tones. The original order does mostly match the flow of the story- or at least one of the plausible stories, as many overlap. And the different songs themselves are not only applicable to different characters, but different aspects of the story too.
