I hate to be trite, but the sentiment is a truism, regardless of how often it's been said- this is the era when music was f'in music, man. Of course, bands like The 97s (who sound a lot like Wilco here, to me) remind us that not everyone has forgotten that music doesn't have to be canned and spoon-fed to the general masses.
