Notes
A sound collage;
an humble homage;
New York as it was,
compiled because
these memories are all we have left.
Sanitized and bowdlerized,
commodified, homogenized,
gentrified and branded,
its rough edges sanded,
Manhattan's becoming a miles-long mall
as boring as its building are tall.
Vandalized by banality,
robbed of its unique mentality,
you wouldn't want to live here,
even if you could afford it;
I even hear it said now
by those who once adored it.
