December in California renders so many xmas songs malapropos. Surf boards are more readily accessible than sleigh rides. The weather outside is never frightful. At the ice rink downtown, the hum of generators is louder than any yuletide carols. So: an xmas playlist of ukuleles, surf guitars, reggae horns, and enough jingling bells to evoke the season even in the warmth.
