Notes
Hades, you reign with steel and iron, death a disciple only to you, a god immortal in the face of ruination. And yet, loneliness a common thief among mortals, brings you down to your knees. Is that why you wondered above the ground, to touch the sky, and breathe the earth? Did your heart not betray you as a man when you gazed upon the sweet face of Persephone? Smelling of nectar and sunlight, with flowers adorned around her head, the daughter of Demeter awakened spring within your soul. How you long to be the wind that kisses her cheek, the ground that meets the tip of her toes, and the bark on the trees that scrapes against the palm of her hand.
