His costume had gone from amateurish to sleek, a middle schooler’s cosplay, clearly cobbled together with effort and heart but still childlike now replaced by the far more useful, worthwhile upgrade. He stood as tall as any of the greats now, everything from his posture to his codename to his deed and word something impressive, powerful. Worthwhile. He'd taken the plunge, and gotten his due, after so many years stuck in the shadows, languishing, suffering.

He was a world away from the Afterthought he'd once been.

(And judging by who he'd left behind in that world, the young psychic was getting further from the word 'hero' every day.)
