Curious that mainstream popular culture products (music, comics, movies, etc.) in 40s-80s are mostly simple and fun, while philosophical and humanities discourses are arguably at the height of their sophistication, achievement, and importance. Now, it seems that musics, tv series, or comics, are often so complex and sophisticated, but the philosophical and humanities discourses are so so.
