This story follows the life of Robert, a hard-ass army captain who is tired of his life at war. His world is turned upside down when a new recruit comes into his life. Jonty is a sarcastic and annoying guy who makes irritating Robert his life's work. Jonty eventually becomes Robert's light in the darkness and they both save each other from departure at the hands of an all-powerful, overruling enemy. A 2014 NaNoWriMo by Emma Maguire.
