Beach Music is uptempo, good-time pop-soul -- in other words, it's party music. Appropriately, it received its name through its constant presence at parties on the Eastern coast. After all, there really isn't a specific "beach music" -- the partiers on the East Cost gave these pop/rock and soul songs the name because these were the records they played on the beach during the '60s. It was all high-energy pop and soul in the vein of Motown.
