This is a collection of songs about the refugee crisis in Sweden. In 2015, Sweden received more refugees per capita than anywhere else in Europe. However, studies show that as time goes on, Swedes have grown more wary of letting in more asylum seekers. Alternatively, conditions for asylum seekers in Sweden have gotten worse. Moreover, refugees have had difficulties assimilating into Swedish culture, which thrives on keeping the peace. Tensions in Sweden have led to a rise in political participation and using art for expression on current issues from Swedes and refugees, alike. Thus, Swedish musicians use music as a medium to express their disdain for either refugees or those who mistreat refugees.
