Notes
Her dark green eyes scanned the treetops, resting on a ruby throated hummingbird preening its wings on a high tree branch. As the sun swept lower, Rhea rose and tucked her notebook into her pocket and grabbed her backpack. She quickly mounted her bike and rode through the forest. She pedaled deliberately slowly so she could enjoy the feel of the trees and the earth, but soon the bumpiness of the forest floor was replaced by an unnatural smoothness, telling Rhea she was on the road.
