In simply layman’s terms, our winds are the effect of the earths ground absorbing the sun's rays faster than the seas surface, creating a huge contrast in temperature and pressure within our atmosphere. But ever wonder what it would be like on earth without the wind? Well it would be possible if the air in the atmosphere stopped rising to create a lower pressure on the planet’s surface, or stopped sinking to generate higher pressures. Without this rising and falling movement of our atmosphere, we would never again have to worry about the effects of wind over land or sea.
