Muska Stanakzai is a humanitarian, TV Host, Master of Ceremonies, Law Clerk, Social Motivator, a Casual Writer and Artist, as well as the recipient of Woman of Courage Award 2015.

Muska is the only daughter and eldest of her three siblings. Born to Afghan parents and raised in Canada, Muska has chosen the best values of both worlds.

Muska believes that God has sent us down to be there for each other. She believes that we cannot complain to God about all problems without taking an action ourselves. God has blessed us with hands, feet, and a brain, Muska believes we should put it all to use and bring the change our world needs.

Growing up, Muska always wanted to do something to give a helping hand to those in need. Anything she could have done to help she did. Without the help of others, it felt impossible to do anything major. When the opportunity to host a Music Show arrived, she was convinced that the door way to her dream of helping others had arrived along with it.

Thus, her historic journey began.

She started her media career with Srood TV in September 2014 as a host and her career blossomed from there. Within a year she created strong roots in the Afghan and Non-Afghan community alike.

In March 2015, Muska was awarded the Women of Courage Award at the International Women's Day Award Gala 2015 for her courageous step towards female empowerment, women’s rights, standing up for oneself, arranged marriages; and the taboo topic of divorce. Muska also delivered a speech regarding arranged marriages, its effects on the couple, the involvement of families, and a message to parents of the groom and bride; to which, several other doors opened for her to speak and deliver her message of freedom of choice, self-respect, and confidence, as well as the importance of education for all.

In May 2015, she was honoured to have been invited as guest at International Film Festival of South Asia and Punjabi International Film Festival where she had the pleasure to meet several prestigious media personnel and sponsors.

In August 2015, she was involved in the fashion show for the Afghan-Canadian Arts Culture Festival. A significant portion of the proceeds of the event was donated to Afghan Education for a Better Tomorrow, which is a non-profit organization dedicated to educational advancement and health care in Afghanistan.

Also in August 2015, Muska helped plan, organize, and hosted the 96th Afghanistan Independence Day Celebration, which was a great success.

Currently, Muska is scheduled to Host the Red Carpet and Fashion Show for Sediq Subab’s Canada Tour in September, and Haroon Bacha’s Tour in October. There are several other events which are yet to be announced publicly, including several charity events.

At the moment, Muska has found another soul with the same dream of helping others and subsequently teamed up with Hadya Barakzai. The duo has major plans and that will shortly unfold – so stay tuned!
