Notes
So I made a mix in tribute to him since I really dig his music... These are a few of my favourites from The Velvet Underground and Lou's solo stuff ... also a few covers by other musicians. This barely scratches the surface of his music, but it's a good starting point.
If you haven't heard his music before, give it a chance and you'll probably like it!
And I like Lulu (with Metallica), I don't care if that's not cool or what anybody else says.

Only just realising how much Sonic Youth/Thurston Moore sound like VU and how many VU songs I hadn't realised I know.

For sure, VU were one of the first to really use a lot of distortion.

I was thinking more about the singing really (based on this mix at least). It's like Sonic Youth are VU with more distortion and Kim Gordon.

thank you for the demo version of sweet jane. shows just how far they (vu) truly were from the flower power style of the time.
