i’m choosing to interpret this prompt as being about the feeling in a relationship where you’re about to approach a fight or a conversation that will change the course of your time together, maybe even end it. it hurts, and you’re angry for sure, but you’re sad and with that sadness comes a certain kind of desperation, an intense longing. things weren’t always like this and no matter what was wrong with how it used to be, you’d take it over where it is now.
