NOT TODAY formed September 2014. The band started as an acoustic project titled ‘U.N.I’ where vocalist, rhythm guitarist Ayrton McGurgan and lead guitarist Darragh Kelly wrote a mass amount of original songs. With the addition of drummer Emily Pinkerton they decided to go electric where they were later joined by bassist Jason Gallagher.
NOT TODAY played their first gig in Top Of The Town Omagh in February 2015 and since then have become a regular on the local scene while playing a vast amount of locations across NI/Ireland. The band released their debut EP, 'Let It Light' later the same year, soon followed by debut single 'The Get Go' early 2016 which has received airplay on various radio stations across the UK including: BBC Radio Ulster, Highland Radio & Rock Radio UK. The band are currently fresh out of the studio and have released their second single 'Behind Closed Doors' which was followed up by their brand new EP 'Riot Upstairs' early 2017. The band are set to announce their first full NI tour coming soon...

"Riot Upstairs, by Omagh 4-piece band Not Today is an audio tapestry of influences with its back to alternative rock basics approach to guitar and drum, grinding and hard hitting riffs all the way through" Noelle Ellis, Gigging NI

“Ayrton, Darragh, Jason & Emily are ‘Not Today’. We’re going to take a track and I think we would have played this already, we’ve certainly listened to it quiet a few times it’s called ‘Ego’... Rigsy and Stu showcasing bands that we think will do a little damage to the Across The Line playlist in 2017.” - Rigsy & Stuart Bailie, BBC Radio Ulster's 'Across The Line'

"It ('The Get Go') reminds me of 'Dinosaur Jr.' and 'Teenage Fanclub' and it's got that slightly nonchalant, slackery, grungy, twisted guitar sound and they do it with great passion, it's that 90's rock and roll thing!" - Rigsy & Stuart Bailie, BBC Radio Ulster's 'Across The Line'

"A young band with developing musicians. Their own tunes range from punky riffers to more delicate sounds which may touch upon what The Skids were previously doing." John Allen, Planet Mosh
