This is part four of a series of playlists centered around the five stages of grief. Each of the characters of Madoka Magica represent one of the stages of grief through their actions, personality, and their response to grief. Sayaka is depression, because she sells her soul for someone she ends up losing. She believes herself to be a monster, unworthy of love, and she ends up regretting the choices she thought she'd never doubt. She copes with this depression by destroying herself, fighting witches carelessly and not purifying her soul gem. She is overcome with despair, and transforms into a witch herself, never coming to terms with her regret and misery.
