Woke to the new year with songs of the Dwarves in my ear, co-organized a conference on the Middle Ages, gave an introduction to "Donnie Darko", played Old Germanic to my students, endless trips to the hospital had me alternate between sweet lullabies and bitter black metal, gave a lecture on "Beowulf", entered the world of Celldweller's "Blackstar", got to know and love OM, losing a few per cent of my hearing at a concert, saw fire in 3D, quiet and reflective family Xmas.
