Charles would say they died together in Cuba, haunted by what they'd done and seen. He'd say that the blissful short time before Cuba that they'd spent together starkly constrasted against the long, dark days that followed. The long days he spent with the ghosts Erik left him and the reminders of the things he'd lost.

Erik would say they were born together at the beginning of a revolution and they were forged with the fire that they've always had within themselves. They were born to lead this new race of theirs that was just beginning to blossom and come to the forefront of society. After Cuba, he'd realize that they were two very different kinds of leaders with fires in them burning for two very different purposes.
