for the sun queen who veils herself within the mountains out of reach from her king, and for the king who paints rivers of bloodshed in her wake. for the grisha rulers who play hide and seek by wreaking devastation as a form of admiration, always on opposing sides of their own careless war. once the last soldier has fallen, they return back to one another, if only to start the cycle anew. (an alternate ending to ruin and rising: set a century into the future)
