Barghest was all bite and no bark, no warning to the anger that boiled underneath.
He vaguely reminded Obitus of bitter sweet candy. Specifically of the ones where no one told him that the first taste would be bitter and disgusting, but the sweetness afterwards was rewarding, almost like an apology.
And with the way Barghest curled up next to him, he decided it was worth it to deal with the bitterness Barghest threw at him all those years ago.
