This mix is inspired by the great critical study, 'Women Make Noise' edited by Julia Downes. Part 2 features Girl Groups plus some solo female artists I felt were also significant.

Some asshole who wrote Rock of Ages: The Rolling Stone History of Rock & Roll said: "The female group of the early 1960s served to drive the concept of art completely away from rock 'n' roll...I feel this genre represents the low point in the history of rock 'n' roll."
