don't destroy the one named kirk

Notes

"In this galaxy, there's a mathematical probability of three million earth-type planets...and in all the universe, three million million galaxies like this one. And in all of that, and perhaps more, only one of each of us. Don't destroy the one named Kirk."

OH MY GOD THATS ACTUALLY WHAT I WAS THINKING ABOUT WHEN I PUT IT ON THERE this makes me so happy oh my god ok go listen to "colony" by the band now, now and try not to cry (i almost put it on the mix as well but decided not to bc it was getting rly long)

it's so awesome to see someone with the same all consuming love for jim kirk. i agree with what you said about into darkness. i'm not happy with some aspects of the new portrayal, but something about chris pine's kirk is simply breathtaking, as in literally takes my breath away when i see him in peak form. the glass scene is heartbreaking, of course (and would be even if it wasn't an incredibly traumatic parallel), but i think my favorite thing about reboot kirk is that he carries the legend of his original upon his shoulders, and it gives him the sense of a myth personified, for me at least. with that comes this almost unreality to him, there is so much potential and energy and alive-ness that surely there are some occasions when he must, well, not explode, but go up in a burst of light. and now i realize you have no flipping clue who i am and i just left a paragraph of a comment almost completely unrelated to your mix. i apologize, i have a lot of jim feels. I have a feeling you understand :) this is a fantastic mix, thank you for making it. and now i will finally shut up.

i love and hate the reboot movies in equal parts haha
wasn't a fan of the whitewashing or the awkward "turn around" scene but i've been crying about chris pine's kirk for weeks now so it evens out i guess
