sirius black is the owner of new york's most popular speakeasy in 1923 and remus is a mysterious regular who takes the same corner table every night. sirius hires the most dazzling singers in america to sing for his customers, all dolled up in velvet and pearls, but remus finds no interest in the women. instead, it's sirius that he watches with heavy-lidded, hazy eyes.
