Aphrodite, Goddess of Love and Beauty comes to life after the castration of Uranus by Cronus. She emerges from the sea foam. Zeus marries her off to his son, Hephaestus, God of Weaponry as he is seen as no threat, but Hephaestus's brother, God of War, Ares falls in love with her. The two have a great love affair, but Ares's jealousy causes him to kill Aphrodite's human lover, Adonis. It takes much for her to forgive Ares, but she still loves and understands him in the end more than any of the other Gods. A tortured soul, Ares was driven mad as a child when he was held prisoner by two Giants, Hermes was the only one who saved him. Ares is the most misunderstood God on Olympus.
