The violin is unrivalled in the beauty of its sound and appearance. The skill required to play well just makes the pieces all the more beautiful. If you're like me and have learnt to play some violin (I've started learning again after an 11-year break and it is really easy to get back to where you were, so I encourage you all to give it another try, too!), you'll appreciate the individuality of a solo string piece and will want to hear quality sound.

UPDATE: I've replaced some songs that are no longer available with some light-hearted Celtic violin pieces, which include some bagpipes throughout. I went to a performance by Celtic Woman and the Celtic Tenors, and I've realised how much amazing Celtic music I've been missing out on! :)
