2 comments on what was ours

So first off the lyrics you chose for the descrip murdered me in my sleep so I'm commenting from the grave.

A Day's Pay for a Day's Work is such a great opener, and mb I'm reaching but I feel like the beat has such a like... funeral, almost military drum-ish quality to it so it just works perfectly. The lyric that I think is "what was ours now I hope only" I first heard as "what was ours now I hold warmly" which sent me into space but as it is it is killer too. Then "Don't Stop" happens and the contrast btwn "my love it is a wreckage, and my love it is my own" to "I'll cuss upon the wreckage, and I'll call the world my own"... lmao. I hate. THE SONG CHOICES. "The Peacock" in entirety is 2M2H and then it goes into "These Rituals of Mine" which like... LOL just fucking kill me now bruh! "I cover and conceal / I prevent you from the real / you just rise above it all / you baptize me with your love"... [laughing while crying emoji] [knife emoji]. It's such a Fitzjames -> Crozier song (IMO) but also like... wow they really, in the words of Rihanna, FOUND LOVE IN A HOPELESS PLACE and it was TRANSFORMATIVE. The FUCK. "It’s a bloody moon, it's a dirty earth / we found our way to the end of youth"->"from within the shadow comes a light / through the hole in your aching side" WHAT THE... I'M SUEING. God ok I should come up with some coherent things to say in response to this sensitive gentle and thoughtful piece of ART... You weren't fucking around with the Gem Club tracks huh. I mean like valid but... ok. "No Widows" is so rough and really situates their connection in this like. Simultaneous fantasy space that is an escape from the horror of their reality and something so GROUNDED in their shared trauma and mutual bitter fixedness in the horrorscape around them. "Hengilás" is so dirgelike which, in context... eff. And then to leave us on that final instrumental note............ :)))))))))) DEATH. Literally. Fitzjames fucking died and Crozier left his old self behind never to return. Ha ha.

The sound of this is so insistent yet soft... so many songs with muted vocals and swirly synths and strings and CRESCENDOS (don't speak to me about the last 30 seconds of TROM in the context of ep 9 lol it's fine), it works for them/the setting so well... Bluh. Tenderness in places of extremity and violence. Also, like, grief. I'm experiencing human emotions. I can't believe they were canonically f*cking in LOVE ugh. Thank u for doing them such justice with this :(

[IDK WHAT IS GOING ON WITH 8TRACKS BUT IT WON'T LET ME LEAVE THIS COMMENT PROPER AND JUST PUT A V THERE. IDEK]

@otp Oh my god, TYSM FOR UR SUPER KIND & THOUGHTFUL WORDS T________T I was really trying for it both tonally & lyrically with every song, so I'm happy it all came across....as the tragic romance that it IS.
