i heard orchestre poly-rythmo playing live in the distance at a folk festival last week. more specifically i heard them faintly in the distance at a different stage than the one i was sitting at. sounded like nothing else in this world. i didn't walk over to their performance because i didn't want to abandon the also-beautiful one i was watching, but i did later find out who they were, at least. naturally i'm delighted to see them on this mix!
